Service Description

There are 3 primary methods for imaging the globe, directly on the cornea, through the eyelid, or imaging through a water bath over the globe. We tend to image through the eyelid most of the time as we feel patients tolerate it better. The examination is generally performed with the dogs awake. Mild sedation may be required if manual restraining is inadequate to securely position the animal. A topical anaesthetic drop is applied to the cornea 2-5 mins prior to the examination.
